Govt trying to solve squatter woes


THE state government hopes to kick off Phase II of the Sungai Pinang flood mitigation project once it relocates about 100 squatter families from the riverbank. 

State Housing and Local Government Com-mittee chairman Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan said the state was working with the Federal Go-vernment to help relocate the squatters to a nearby plot of land owned by the state Islamic Religious Council.
