IT was a visit in the spirit of sharing during festivity.
With that in mind, Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih or PKK visited the Orang Asli settlement in Kampung Pansun, Hulu Langat recently.
Families of 128 settlers including their children gathered at their community centre where PKK members and their children handed over goodies to these families.
The settlers provided refreshing young coconuts from their village to the visitors.
PKK president Peter Dorairaj in his address to the community said the aid to them was part of the organisation’s community service to ease their burden with the rising cost of living.
He also thanked the various organisations that sponsored some of the items that were handed out.
Goodie bags containing essential household items including rice, cooking oil, flour, sugar, sardines, noodles and biscuits were distributed to all families. Also in the bags were clothes and toys for the children.
The smile on these villager’s faces and their laughter were proof that they were glad to receive the goodies.
Village headman Batin Manja anak Aman thanked PKK for their effort in bringing joy to the settlers and appealed for more organisations to come forward to help them and the less fortunate.
