AS part of the companys ''Touching Hearts'' initiative, Unilevers employees helped to upgrade Sekolah Kebangsaan Bangsars reading room.
This was to provide the pupils with a more conducive environment for learning and nurture the reading habit.
The employees worked together with the staffof the school for three months to refurbish the reading room.
While the community service initiative of most companies are management driven, Touching Hearts is 100% employee driven, said Unilevers director of Corporate Relations and Human Resources, Nik Mustapha Nik Mohamed.

Upgrading and refurbishing the reading room is not the first project that Unilever has done for the school.
It has supported the school by raising funds to buy a van for the schools activities as well as organising UPSR workshops and motivational talks for pupils.
The school was adopted by the company for its community projects because of its proximity to Unilevers building.
