IT IS almost two years since I moved into my new home in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, and there is still no telephone line available. Last December I went to TM's headquarters in Kerinchi to lodge a complaint and was assured by an official that the fixed line would be ready by the end of the month.
Nothing happened until March when I saw telephone poles being erected around the vicinity.
TM even sent flyers to each house notifying us to register at their its booths nearby.
When I went there, I was told to call TM at a given number.
After numerous calls, they informed me that they had to wait for more people to move into my housing estate - which was almost 80% occupied then - before they could proceed with the lines.
What irked me most was that another new housing estate just next to ours, which was not even fully completed when I moved in, had already gotten the telephone lines! And the houses there were not even fully occupied.
Do I have to wait another year? In this day and age, taking more than 20 months to provide basic telephone service is just shameful.
Fed Up,
Cheras.
