FINALLY after 40 years, Rawang town will have an organised market. By July 31, traders selling food, fruits, fish, vegetables, flowers and meat will all be sited at the new market in Rawang town.
The new wet market, a RM28mil five-storey building, has a built-up area of 90,000sq ft and floor space of more than 350,00sq ft.
The market will have designated areas for traders selling non-halal and halal food.
Traders who are presently doing business in the temporary market located in Rawang town have a month to clean up or renovate lots allocated to them before moving in.
Recently, Rawang assemblyman Datuk Tang See Hang met traders and visited the site to check on the basics facilities like public toilets, parking area, unloading area and garbage disposal area built by the developer Mahumas Sdn Bhd.
Tang told the developer that everything has to be ready by July 30, just before the traders move in.
There will be 245 lots for the vegetable, meat, fish and chicken traders, 59 food stalls, 21 lots for traders of fruits and flowers, 15 for halal traders and 24 lots for the pork traders.
On the first floor, there will be 84 traders of non-halal food and 15 traders of halal food.
