PLANNING for the PJ Half Marathon is going full swing with various products being sponsored as prizes for participants.
For starters, there will be free samples of Yakult offered at the Yakult booth. The flavoured milk cultured drink will help runners digest their breakfast easier.
“We will be selling the milk cultured drink and creating some awareness of our probiotic drink,” said public relations and science executive Lim Siew Ling.
Optik Peakvision will be promoting the Johnson & Johnson acuvue contact lenses and will have opticians at hand to discuss the merits of wearing contact lenses instead of spectacles during sports activities.
“You don’t have to worry about it slipping due to sweat, or worry about the ball striking you. And you will have peripheral vision,” said Optik Peakvision managing director Yap Chee Song.
“We believe that if you can see better, you perform better at your sports activities.”
Even Standard Chartered will set up a booth for participants. The bank will be offering financial advice and promoting their Islamic financing solutions.
Products like the Quick Cash-I scheme allows people to get funds up to RM150,000 without a guarantor or collateral.
“We will have our business partners, lawyers and valuers to provide professional assistance to customers who want to refinance their loans,” said Shawn Valerio.
Chemical Company Malaysia (CCM) will have their pharmaceutical and healthcare products on display on that day.
“We will have our product managers on hand to answer questions participants have on our products,” said corporate affairs executive Mohd Farid Sumali.
At the Yeo Hiap Seng booth, there will be a promotion of their latest Cintan Cup-A-Mi, an innovative cup noodle minus the cup.
“That is cost savings for the customer because they are not paying money for the cup,” said brand manager Irene Wang.
“The Cintan Cup-A-Mi is as tasty as cooked instant noodles and comes in two flavours of curry lemak and chicken.”
There will also be sampling of soybean milk at the Yeo Hiap Seng booth as part of the promotion of their healthy lifestyle products.
The run will be held at Stadium Petaling Jaya in Kelana Jaya on June 18 in conjunction with Petaling Jaya attaining city status on June 20.
The marathon is jointly organised by MPPJ, Selangor Amateur Athletics Association and The Star.
