Golfers walked away with attractive prizes

TAN GEAP EE won the gross category in the third leg of the Cross Creek Pharmaton Amateur golf circuit at the Black Forest Golf and Country Club in Bukit Kayu Hitam recently. 

Tan returned with a superb one over 73 to win the title by one stroke. Khor Tak Joo was second with 74, while Mohamed Zahid Jaafar was third with a score of 75. 

Tan earned himself a Srixon S506 Driver, while Khor won an Emirates air ticket to Jakarta and an Emirates Golf Travel Cover. Mohamed Zahid won himself Srixon XXIO putter. 

Subramaniam Bentariah, who plays to an 18 handicap, returned with a score of 62, to win the nett category.

He won a Srixon 403AD fairway wood.  

Najib Shaari was second on 64 and won a Hitachi Tower Fan and a Cross Creek Ballistic Bag, while Bakri Baharom (12) carded 65 to finish third and took home a Srixon XXIO Wedge and a Cross Creek Duffle Bag. 

Sophee Chong won the Sure-To-Win Hole-In-One prize at Hole 7 of an Emirates Air Ticket to Jakarta with a superb tee shot that finished about 20cm away from the flag.  

There was also another Sure-To-Win Hole-In-One Prize at Hole 12, a Hitachi Jar Cooker that went to Izham Radzi whose effort rolled within 3.3m of the pin. 

The 2006 Cross Creek Pharmaton Amateur Golf Circuit has six more qualifying legs to go, with the next one scheduled for June 10 at the Tiara Melaka Golf & Country Club.  

The top three gross and top three nett finishers from each leg that qualify for the Grand Final are to be played at Saujana Golf & Country Club on Sept 10.
