DATUK Seri Mahdzir Khalid has been leading such a hectic life since he be-came the Kedah Mentri Besar five months ago that he hardly stays put in one place.
He was however ‘put in a spot’ long enough by his wife Datin Seri Noraini Abdullah during a Family Day celebration in Pulau Langkawi to commemorate his 100th day in office.
She had a whale of a time ‘mummifying’ Mahdzir in the Wrap Your Hubby competition during a telematch at Holiday Villa in Pantai Tengah recently.
About 160 employees from the Mentri Be-sar’s office and their families participated in the three-day carnival that ended on May 13.
Mahdzir and wife participated in several events with three of their children.
“I want this programme to be an annual event as it strengthens family ties,” he said.
“This sort of function also helps spouses of staff to better understand the duties at Wisma Darulaman.
“We have a punishing schedule. We hope the spouses understand the nature of our work. Sometimes we have to work beyond office hours,” he said.
Calling on the staff to work as a team, Mah-dzir said close co-operation was vital to en-sure everything runs smoothly to live up to the Kedah Gemilang tag.
