I T WAS a close race between Keningau and Kota Belud but Keningau managed to retain the overall title at the recent Sabah Schools Track and Field championship at Likas Stadium after pipping their closest challenger by six silver medals.
Both Keningau and Kota Belud teams picked up 23 gold medals each but with 23 silver and 14 bronze medals in the bag, Keningau was ahead of Kota Belud, which had 17 silver and 24 bronze medals.
