VASAKHI fell on April 14 but the celebration continued onto the following day in Penang with an open house held at Fort Cornwallis which was attended by about 3,000 people, including tourists.
Although it rained until about 8pm, this did not dampen the spirit of the guests as most of them came prepared with umbrellas for the five-hour event which started at 5pm.
