HIS passion for music and interest in conducting took him thousands of miles to Beijing, China, in pursuit of his dream to be an accomplished world class conductor.
Local boy Pung Aik Khai, 26, who hails from Air Itam, Penang, left for the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing in 2002 after he felt that he made a “lousy piano and violin teacher” back home.
