It was nearing midnight yet a huge crowd still gathered outside the Chew Jetty in Weld Quay, Penang, last night.
The over 2,000-strong crowd comprised mainly Hokkiens who were eagerly waiting to usher in the Thnee Kong Seh (Jade Emperor's birthday) which falls on the ninth day of the first lunar month today.
