Earlier, Adnan was invited as the guest-of-honour to flag off a sports carnival organised by the Pahang Foundation and Pahang Undergra- duates Council (Mampan).

The two-day carnival was held at Sukpa Indoor Stadium in Indera Mahkota last weekend.

A total of 16 teams took part in the futsal tournament while another seven teams battled it out in the netball competition.

The closing ceremony saw a friendly futsal match between Mampan and the Mentri Besar’s Office, in which Adnan demonstrated his skills.

Adnan, who was a footballer during his school days, proved he had not lost his touch.

He still plays football at his official residence in Jalan Teluk Sisek when he has the time.

“I have not been playing football for the past three months due to my busy schedule,” he said when met after the match.

Apart from him, other state leaders who took part in the match were state executive councillors Datuk Mohd Soffi Abdul Razak, Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin and Datuk Shahiruddin Ab Moin.

International Islamic University won the futsal tournament while Universiti Malaya took top spot in the netball match.
