Water birds under threat from land clearing


THE 200ha Teluk Ayer Tawar-Kuala Muda coastal area, a favourite spot for migratory birds, is under threat with continuous land clearing in the name of development. 

Wetlands International (Ma-laysia) director Dr Sundari Rama-krishna said development is mo-ving northwards from Butter-worth, and that the locals were not consulted when the development work was carried out in the area.
