Exotic creations 

In conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur International Gourmet Festival until Dec 8, Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur's Chalet Swiss restaurant will be serving creations by executive chef Vincent Tan and his team. The items include Salmon with Lush Creamy Cauliflower puree and Royal Iranian Caviar, Golden Butter Nut Squash with Whipped Cream, Smoked Beef Bacon and more delights. Lunch or dinner is priced at RM148++ per person. For reservations call 03-2161 7777.  

LAS CARRETAS RESTAURANT AND BAR, 14 Jalan USJ10/1E, Subang UEP (Tel: 03-5637 3058) & 22 Persiaran Ampang, KL (Tel: 03-4257 1668). Business Hrs for both outlets: Mon-Sat, lunch (11.30am-2.30pm); dinner (6pm-10.30pm), Sunday & Public Holidays (5pm-10.30pm). Most of the dishes are spicy. The main menu features, among others, Chicken Fajitas, Beef Backribs and Nachos Muchos. Also known for its El Presidente Magarita, its French cuisine and the highly recommended mushroom soups.  

RESTORAN TASIK INDAH, Taman Tasik Tengah, Jalan Indah, Seksyen 14, Shah Alam (Tel: 03-5519 8388). Business Hrs: Daily, lunch (noon-2.30pm); dinner (6pm-11.30pm). Features a variety of seafood and freshwater bounty grilled, baked, steamed or fried in Chinese, Malay or Thai style. Traditional Malay dishes are included in the menu with the special kampung style menu promoting signature dishes of every state. Set lunch from Monday to Friday (noon-2.30pm).
