IN an effort to bring cheer into the lives of underprivileged children, Nestlé Products Sdn Bhd recently feted 150 children from Persatuan Rumah Kanak-Kanak Ini Disayangi, St Barnabas Home & Community Centre, Phileo Homes, Miracle Home and Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam at an event to usher in the Festival of Lights.
The children were given hampers and RM10, courtesy of Nestlé Products.
The pledge was made by Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad sales director Ganesan Ampalavanar and witnessed by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs deputy minister Datuk S. Veerasingam.
Deepavali, as with the other festive seasons, is a month for us to practise patience and tolerance, a time to count our blessings, and for sharing and giving, especially with the less fortunate in our community. We are pleased to share some of this goodwill with the orphans and underprivileged children.
We hope that our small contribution will in some way add joy to their lives, especially during the upcoming festive celebration, said Ganesan.
The event, organised in celebration of Deepavali, is also aimed at fostering greater ties with the retail trade and business partners.
It is a way of showing the companys appreciation to its partners who have shown continued support to Nestlé for mutual benefit.
It also provided Nestlé with an opportunity to create greater awareness of its extensive range of products, as well as the convenience in the application of these products to meet the needs of its consumers.
