The Government is working very hard to eliminate the sense of deprivation felt by the rural poor and marginalised native groups in Sabah and Sarawak, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili.
The huge amount of financial allocations to be channelled to the two states as outlined by the 2006 Budget is proof that Kuala Lumpur was genuinely concerned about the welfare of these sections of the community in East Malaysia, he said.
