ALOR STAR: Farmers in the country’s rice bowl state of Kedah want the price of padi to be increased by 100% in view of the escalating cost of operation.
State Farmers Organisa-tion (PPNK) chairman Datuk Badri Yunus said that it was high time the price was increased from 55 sen to RM1.10 per kg.
