Road accident victim dies in hospital


ALOR STAR: Tow truck driver Rosli Hassan, who had been unconscious since a container lorry hit him at Km100.8 of the North-South Expressway on Sept 26, died at the Alor Star Hospital on Saturday. 

His wife Suhaida Saad, 24, and their daughters Norsha-mimi, four, and Norsharifa, 15 months, were at his bedside when he died. 

“I’m very worried about my family’s future as Rosli was the sole breadwinner. I will have to look for work to support my children,” she said yesterday. 

Rosli’s remains were laid to rest at the Alor Mengkudu Muslim Cemetary at yesterday. 

Three others – Mohd Shaz-wan Abdullah, 33, Mohd Jabir Meera Mydin, 26, and Sicilia @ Vanesa Grant Francis, 24 – were also killed in the accident.  

Mohd Shazwan’s father-in-law Hanafi Lazim, 50, and his brother-in-law Mohd Anuar Hanafi, 23, were injured. 

Rosli was on his way to his uncle’s house in Sungai Dua, Penang, when the incident occurred.
