Johor to decide on dugong haven


Johor will gazette a few places around state waters as dugong sanctuaries if research shows the safety of the marine mammals can be guaranteed. 

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani said the three areas were in Sungai Johor, Sungai Pulai and Pulai Sibu and Pulau Tinggi in Mersing, which had been identified as areas often visited by dugongs.
