The annual best development feature and short story writing competition organised by Sarawak non-governmental organisation Angkatan Zaman Mansang (Azam) will see the introduction of the best development picture category this year.
Azam deputy chairman Datuk Wilson Baya Dandot said that entries in the category should be photographs depicting development in Sarawak.
A prize of RM800 awaits the winning entry, followed by a second prize of RM500, a third prize of RM250 and two consolation prizes of RM100 each.
The competition’s two main categories are the Azam-Petronas best development feature for the media and the public, and the short story writing competition for school students.
“Our objective in organising the competition is to encourage more features on development issues, Dandot said after receiving a sponsorship of RM40,350 from Petronas in Kuching recently.
Petronas Sarawak region general manager Ahmad Rahmad said the company’s partnership with Azam was in line with its corporate social investment initiative.
