Group wants 140-year-old temple restored

THE 140-year-old Kwong Hock Keong temple will lose its historical significance as the first Chinese temple in Nibong Tebal, Penang, if no effort is made to restore the building.

Penang Heritage Trust (PHT) council member Clement Liang told The Star that the temple, built in 1866, had been left to deteriorate after the temple committee invested RM2mil to construct a new temple.
