THE rain may have dampened the hot coals on the pit that dozens of devotees where walking on, but it did not dampen the fervour of the 5,000 Hindus who gathered for prayers at the Seafield Mariamman Temple in UEP Subang Jaya on Saturday.
The temple was built more than a hundred years ago by plantation workers in what was then Seafield Estate. It has come a long way since then, and now serves devotees from Subang Jaya, USJ, Putra Heights and its surroundings.
