ALOR STAR: A Kedah Anti-Smuggling Unit (UPP) officer sped on his motorcycle over 3km to seek refuge at a police station when a smuggler tried to attack him near the Bukit Kayu Hitam border checkpoint, about 50km from here.
Kedah UPP commander Abdul Rahim Ismail said the 32-year-old officer was riding his motorcycle back home to Bukit Tangga after work at about 6.30pm on Sunday when the assailant, in his early 40s, started trailing him on another motorcycle.
