CONVENT Green Lane (CGL) alumnae raised RM15,000 for their alma mater at their 25th anniversary dinner.
The money will be used to give the school a fresh coat of paint for a new and brighter look, said dinner organising chairman Wong Mei Fong.
“Just as the alumni wanted to stay ‘new and fresh’, the same goes for the school.
“The dinner was also rightly themed ‘Forever Young, 25 Years . . . Freshness Keeps us Growing',” Wong said.
Alumni president Ewe Ei Leen said the dinner proved that the CGL spirit was still very much alive in ex-students, no matter where they are.
“We received donations from not only ex-students in Malaysia but also those residing in Singapore, Australia, Canada and France,” said Ewe.
Some 330 people attended the dinner including Malaysian squash queen Nicol David who is also an ex-student.
The event was held recently at a hotel in Penang.
