EVERY year, Malaysians generate 180,000 tonnes of scrap tyres, which could be turned into high market value by-products for the construction and industrial sectors.
As such, Octagon Consolidated Bhd will set up a RM100mil plant to recycle scrap tyres, adopting a South Korean technology that uses heat to break down the waste tyre into its original components.
