Laughter rang through the Lower Ground Floor Oval at 1 Utama (New Wing) during the recent school holidays as hundreds of children participated in a series of fun-filled activities.
The activities, organised by the shopping centre ma-nagement, were themed “Funtastic School Holiday Escapade”.
The venue was decorated in vibrant colours with an arrangement of giant toy blocks, paintbrush and pencils as the highlight.
The programme included the Balo Paint-a-Shirt contest, Kids Quest Treasure Hunt, Monopoly Board Ga-me competition, Betty Boop colouring contest and Warhammer 40K tournament.
“A great deal of thought went into designing our school holiday activities, so that the children could have fun yet nurture positive values such as teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills,” said 1 Utama (New Wing) centre manager Kenny Chin.
“There were many activities to choose from and parents could either sit back and relax, or join in - which many did,” he added.
The response was overwhelming, with hundreds of youngsters aged between eight and 15 years old eagerly waiting to submit their participation forms. The winners of each event proudly showed off their attractive prizes on stage before taking them home.
“It was a joy watching the kids; they had so much fun and energy. I was also pleasantly surprised that many of them came up with fantastic works of art and they were also extremely quick in solving puzzles and challenges - they could easily rival adults!” said Chin.
