The Cyberjaya Just Lari Run held in the intelligent city in early June offered about 200 participants the chance to break away from their hectic schedules and take part in a fun event while improving their fitness.
Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd, the master developer of Cyberjaya, organi-sed the run.
The 5-km run was divided into three categories - Team, Men’s Open and Women’s Open. Setia Haruman is planning to organise a similar run next year.
Employees of HSBC, Shell, InventQjaya, DHL, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC), Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), TNB, IBM, Motorola Multimedia, EDS and Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa signed up for the run.
Just Lari also attracted the participation of students of higher learning institutions based in Cyberjaya like the Multimedia University (MMU) and Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology.
Sepang Municipal Council secretary Adailami Mohamad Amin flagged off the run, observed by Setia Haruman chief operating officer Lao Chok Keang and corporate affairs general manager Abdul Aziz Shaari.
The Shell team comprising Goh Ban Sim, Patricia Lai, Allant Ching, Tony Teh and Goy Jwee Seng emerged champions of the cate- gory, walking away with a trophy, medals and hamper worth RM700.
Mahathege Ruslandias from Ceylinco Consolidated who clocked in at 17 minutes and 10 seconds won the Men’s Open while Audrey Reutens of Motorola Multimedia won the Women’s Open with the time of 27 minutes and 57 seconds.
Sponsors for the run were Cyberview Lodge, 100-Plus and Nestle.
