Chiu … mall caters to locals and expatriates.

HARTAMAS Shopping Centre, located next to Plaza Damas in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, is now open.

The three-storey shopping centre may just be the place for families and expatriates who are in search for a mall closer to their neighbourhood.

Spread over 200,000sq ft, the mall consists of 130 lots with more than 90% taken up by food and beverage outlets, two supermarkets, speciality shops, boutiques, pharmacies, bookstores, electrical appliance concept shops and service-orientated outlets.

Among the anchor tenants are the Citi Super supermarket on the ground floor, Sony concept outlet on the plaza floor and SenQ on the first level.

There is a concierge counter on the ground floor where Japanese-speaking visitors can seek help from the concierge manager who can communicate in Japanese, English, Malay and Chinese.

The mall is easily accessible as there are three entrances from the car park on each floor. Besides, the mall is also connected to Plaza Damas, Mayfair Service Apartments and Dorchester Place Service Apartments.

The mall, Plaza Damas and both the apartments are in the same area developed by Malaysia Land Properties Sdn Bhd or better known as Mayland.

The Hartamas Shopping Centre is located next to Plaza Damas in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur.

Plaza Damas director Winnie Chiu said the shopping mall catered to locals and expatriates who live in and around Sri Hartamas and Mont' Kiara areas.

“We have an extensive range of products for the Japanese and Korean communities. There is a Sony concept shop with a lounge where the Japanese can relax and read imported magazines,” she said during an interview recently.

She added that the expatriates would also be able to find food and cooking items imported from countries like Japan and Korea at the Citi Super supermaket.

The SenQ concept outlet offers products of different brands under the same roof.

“This is a suburb mall with good ambience and provides a weekend getaway and convenience, in line with our tagline “Always Close to You''.

More businesses are expected to open, including an area dedicated to children and boutiques from Hong Kong.

Once the second phase is completed, residents and visitors can expect more value-added services and entertainment such as karaoke outlets and a cineplex.
