MOTORISTS turning right into University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) from Jalan Gasing will find that the traffic light there changes to red very quickly after, allowing only a few cars through.

This is a perpetual problem and patients who need to get to the hospital are often stuck for several minutes.

Why can’t the green light be on for a longer period so that more motorists can enter the hospital grounds in a timely manner? In case of an emergency, patients could even die in their vehicles.

Another problem is the lack of signage in UMMC itself. This results in visitors having to ask medical personnel for directions all the time.

Many of us have got lost in the maze although we might have been to UMMC umpteen times.

Please ensure more signboards are installed so that patients will arrive for their appointments on time.
