Road projects lacking safety

Fatal accidents can be avoided if the construction site has better signage to alert road users to the danger ahead.

I AM really sad that another person has lost his life in an accident related to construction activities on public roads. According to the state traffic investigation and enforcement deputy chief, an investigation revealed that around 4am on Dec 26, a 28-year-old motorcyclist skidded and fell into a hole in the middle of the road at the ongoing flood mitigation project at Padang Merdeka. Further investigation revealed that the warning signs were placed too close to the construction hole.

I am very disappointed with the response from Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) mayor Datuk Abdul Abang Wahap Abang Julai, who appeared to defend the contractor involved in the project.
