Keeping a watchful eye on modern childcare

I WAS at a supermarket in Green Heights, Kuching, last weekend for my regular monthly shopping. I was doing my rounds when a little boy, who could not have been more than five years old, came pushing a small cart with some items in it and was having a race with what must be his younger sister.

I wondered where were the parents who left the children unattended in a public area with shelves full of things that might fall over.
