MALAYSIAN employers have claimed that it costs them RM2.9bil a year in additional overtime because workers take medical leave based on forged sick leave certificates.
These are indeed serious accusations. So serious that even MACC has come out to say that taking sick leave using fake medical certificates is corruption and an offence under the MACC Act.
