A subdued Malaysia Day

By Yu Ji

HAPPY Malaysia Day everyone. Today marks the formation of the Federation of Malaysia, the coming together of three equal partners over half a century ago.

I am slightly over half as old as Malaysia is and have always called Sarawak my home. During a holiday in Europe mid-year, right at the end, I was so excited to be returning home. I visited London, Paris and Rome, all great cities, but home is, well, home. More than an address, Sarawak is actually a part of my character.
