Chauffeur app service is legitimate

IN THE Sept 8 story “Filling the void left by licensed taxis”, Blacklane was characterised by a former taxi driver as one of the mobile apps “designed to circumvent the licensed taxi industry by operating in a black market and actively recruiting private vehicle owners to provide pirate taxi services.”

In addition, the former driver said Blacklane is among several companies that “have scant regard for local laws, avoid engaging with regulators, are ruthless with taxi drivers and put on a messiah facade.”
