CHINESE ownership should benefit Germany’s robotic manufacturer Kuka, the firm’s robotics chief says as the company and shareholders consider a US$5.1bil offer from home appliances maker Midea.

Kuka already sells 25-30% of its robots in China, Stefan Lampa says, adding it’s essential to have research and development centres there for the local market, as the German firm has had for the past year and a half.
