Selangor govt eyes global halal market

Teng says the halal market is worth an estimated RM7.8tril and is a great way to improve Malaysia’s position on the global front.

HAVING successfully organised the Malaysia Top E-Commerce Merchant Awards 2016, the country’s first e-merchant award, in April, the Selangor government said it would continue to help cultivate entrepreneurship and push cross-border trade in the state.

“One of the ways we aim to do this is by spearheading an initiative to fast-track Malaysians into the global halal market through the establishment of a universally-recognised halal standard,” said Selangor exco Datuk Teng Chang Khim.
