Upskilling SME workers

SMEs need to acquire the latest knowledge, expertise and technology through continuous upskilling of their workforce, says Vignaesvaran.

?THE Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) has established the HRDF Pool Fund to encourage SMEs to continuously train employees to increase their level of competency, and various new initiatives are expected to be implemented.

“Over the past two decades of our existence, we have evolved in our role from managing a sizeable fund to becoming a one-stop centre for providing HRD solutions to our registered employers which currently stands at approximately 17,000, of which close to 80% are small and medium enterprises (SMEs),” said HRDF chief executive officer Datuk C.M. Vignaesvaran Jeyandran at a recent human resource programme.
