According to a report by GfK TEMAX Malaysia,the sales of consumer electronic goods, photography, and telecommunication products declined in the first quarter of this year.
THE SECOND quarter of this year was a hard one for the consumer electronic retailing business in the northern region, following the implementation of GST on April 1.
Star Electronics Sales & Services Sdn Bhd (SEC) managing director Joseph Hon said sales were very good in the first quarter, as consumers rushed to buy before GST came into effect.
