A robust watch by Tag Heuer imbued with the racing spirit of Nissan Nismo? Say hello to the Carrera Nismo.
FOR the first time ever, Nissan Nismo is partnering up with Tag Heuer to introduce their special edition Carrera Nismo watch.
Sold exclusively by Cortina Watch, this sporty titanium light-weight watch, measuring 43mm in diameters, is all black but with accents of charcoal grey and red bands on the dial.
It is also equipped with the famous 16 calibre 16 movement, which is known for reliability and robustness.
To top it all off, the caseback carries the Nissan Nismo decal logo and is not only scratch-proof but water-resistant to 100m.
“This watch is extremely resistant, and we are happy to give the exclusive selling rights for this watch to Cortina Watch,” said Tag Heuer South-East Asia vice president Amelia Sillard during the launch of the watch at the newly opened Nissan Glenmarie 4S Centre in Shah Alam.
Joining her was Tan Chong Motor executive director Christopher Tan, who added that both Tag Heuer and Nissan share the same branding values.
“This is a proud moment for us. Both brands fit each other well because we have the same values of excitement and innovation,” he said.
He added that watches, like cars, work like clockwork and are both instruments of precision.
“They are both utterly reliable and always work perfectly if well maintained,” he said.
As Tan Chong Motor is 58 years old, just like Malaysia, they will be giving away three units of the special edition watch to their lucky customers in conjunction with Independance Day on Aug 31.
“We want to share this excitement with all our customers, and we want to reward them with this exclusive gift,” Tan said.
Meanwhile, Cortina Watch Malaysia’s managing director Tay Liam Khoon said he was glad that the collaboration finally happened.
“We have been talking about this collaboration for some time now. I’m also thankful to Tag Heuer for giving us this exclusivity to sell this watch,” he said.
After the launch, all three got changed into their racing overalls before challenging each other to a race on the race track. — By BRENDA CH’NG
