EMKAY-NPNG are on song as they recorded their third win in the Super Division in the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) league.

In a Group A match played at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Sports Complex, Emkay-NPNG, the defending champions, went on a scoring spree and defeated Team Force 9-2 to stay unbeaten in the league.

Emkay-NPNG had recorded slim 1-0 wins in their previous two matches. But against Team Force, their strikers were in form.

In fact, Emkay-NPNG could have won by a bigger margin if not for some fine goalkeeping by Team Force’s Muhammad Danial Asyraaf Adzin.

Emkay-NPNG started the rout in the second minute when Mohd Radzi Pilus scored. Mohd Radzi went on to score again in the 66th and 85th minutes to complete his hat-trick.

Emkay-NPNG’s other goals came from Muhammad Syazwan Mohamed Rani (2), Mohd Badrul Hisyam Azmi, G. Sivachandran and Mohd Shuhaimi Shuib.

Team Force’s goals were scored by N. Thiruselvam and Khairul Anuar Shafie in the 80th and 89th minutes.

Emkay-NPNG coach Michael Palani said he was pleased with his strikers’ scoring abilities.

“We had beaten Team Force in the final of the FA Cup last season. But Team Force have recruited several young players. They showed a lot of guts but our experience helped us. They took advantage of our players’ complacency in the closing stages to score two goals. But this happens when a team has a comfortable lead. We are also happy to get a big win as it will boost the players’ confidence.

“We are looking forward to retaining the league title as well as the FA Cup. It has been a good start for us as we have already won the Charity Shield. It is not going to be an easy ride as our rivals will also be gunning for our scalp.

“Our players have to be consistent and get the goals,’’ said Michael.

In other Group A matches, Smart Focus defeated Sultan Sulaiman Club 3-1 while Selangor Indian Association–PIB drew 1-1 with Kuala Langat District Football Association.

Former champions PKNS continued their fine form in the league when they edged My World 1-0 in a Group B match.

Seasoned campaigners PNSB scored a slim 2-1 win over Anak Kalumpang while Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) were held to a scoreless draw by KG M&R.
