WHEN Euro 2016 got underway four weeks ago, France were installed as joint favourites. Part of their attraction was due to the fact they were chasing a third major football title at home.
To a great extent that appeal was borne out on Thursday when they sent the co-favourites of the European Championships – Germany – packing with a comprehensive and deserved 2-0 victory.
