SPAIN’S Primera Division, or La Liga as it’s often referred to, was awash this week with headline after headline, after headline. The root cause was the dismissal of Rafa Benitez and the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as his successor at Real Madrid.

A semblance of normality should return to Spanish football today when half of the teams engage in league action and the other half tomorrow. But even then, Real will be in the spotlight, and so they should be.
