ALIMIN Bacho Nepo made a mockery of the handicapping system last month when he won the gross title of the 12th round of the Prudential Astro Masters, played at Shan Shui Golf & Country Club in Tawau, Sabah.
The 17-handicapper from Lahad Datu carded a gross 77 to win by two strokes – which was a clear 10 strokes better than his handicap. As a consequence and in accordance with the tournament’s Unique Rules policy, Alimin’s handicap will be adjusted to 5 for the grand final in Bali – a slashing of 12 strokes.
