A TECH giant is expanding its lifestyle ecosystem with the launch of a device that marries high-fashion aesthetics with cutting-edge utility.
Speaking at the Huawei Mate X7 launch at a shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur, Huawei Malaysia product specialist Pang Jia Hao emphasised that the brand’s roadmap was driven by more than just technical specifications.
“We focused our innovation on creating products that bring joy,” he said.
“We listen intently to user feedback to understand the real experiences they have with our products.
“This encourages and empowers us to innovate further and faster.”
The Mate X7 represented the culmination of years of refinement, he added.
“Huawei’s foldable series has been leading the industry since 2019, constantly redefining what a smartphone can be.
“We are proud to announce the latest generation of foldables, the new Huawei Mate X7.”
The device’s centrepiece is the X-True dual display system.
In its folded state, users interact with a 6.49-inch outer screen that provides the tactile comfort of a traditional flagship smartphone.
Unfolding the device reveals an expansive 8-inch inner canvas, turning a phone into a high-performance workstation or immersive cinema.
Despite its large displays, the Mate X7 remains remarkably durable.
It features an Ultra-Reliable Foldable Architecture protected by Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass and boasts IP58/IP59 dust and water resistance.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the true-to-colour camera system, headlined by a 50-megapixel telephoto macro camera.
With 3.5x optical zoom, users can switch seamlessly from wide-angle cityscapes to a macro shot.
For videographers, the ultra high dynamic range (HDR) recording brings cinematic 4K quality to the palm of the hand.
The device is powered by a 5,600mAh battery supporting 66W wired SuperCharge.
“With each new generation, we strive to achieve meaningful advances that make it possible for users to do more with their lives,” Pang added.
The launch also includes the Huawei FreeClip 2 (RM699), featuring the unique Airy C-Bridge design for open-ear comfort, and the ultra-luxurious Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition.
Golfing aficionados can look forward to the Honma x Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, a collaboration with the Japanese luxury golf brand.
The Watch GT 6 41mm also sees a stylish update with a new Milanese strap in gold and black.
The Huawei Mate X7, priced at RM8,688, is available in Nebula Red, Classic Black and Brocade White from Jan 31.
Pre-orders can be done at all Huawei Experience Stores, official websites and flagship stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok.
Early birds will receive exclusive gifts worth up to RM7,597, including a Huawei Watch 5, a MatePad 11.5, and Huawei Care+ screen protection.
