Passengers can buy unlimited 30-day travel pass on BAS.MY for RM30.
RIDERSHIP on the BAS.MY bus service across all 22 routes in Negri Sembilan saw a 35% increase to 125,000 users in 2025.
This compares to 90,000 passengers recorded in 2024, said state local government development, housing and transport committee chairman J. Arul Kumar.
“The additional 35,000 passengers reflect growing public confidence in BAS.MY service and the success of government efforts to strengthen public transport,” he said, as reported by Bernama.
He said the state aimed to boost ridership to more than 200,000 this year.
Arul Kumar said the government had introduced BAS.MY concession cards offering free fares to senior citizens, school and university students and persons with disabilities.
He added that the price of the unlimited 30-day travel pass was also reduced from RM50 to RM30, equivalent to RM1 a day.
Among the busiest routes are Nilai Sentral to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), with about 20,000 passengers a month, and Terminal 1 to Nilai Sentral, which recorded around 6,000 passengers.
Arul Kumar said underperforming routes, including Nilai to Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, might be discontinued and replaced with new routes under review.
He said BAS.MY would also be asked to introduce a route to Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar to improve public access to the facility.
