THE much-anticipated Shopee Superstar Awards 2025 celebrated livestreamers and their role in Malaysia’s online business landscape.
Hundreds of livestreamers, known as brand affiliates, were given accolades in various categories for their exceptional sales last year.
Several categories also honoured those who generated good views and online engagement from customers.
Shopee Malaysia marketing director Tan Ming Kit said the platform recorded more than one million affiliates this year.
“In total, they managed to rack up 20 million orders in a month, which is twice the growth reported in the same period last year.
“In 2025, more than 100 affiliates achieved sales worth more than RM1mil,” he said in his speech at the event in Kuala Lumpur.
Tan said Shopee House (themed physical venues hosted by the platform) brought together 2,400 affiliates with 190 brands to customers.
He said the platform remained committed to driving the local economy and cultivating new entrepreneurs.
“Our affiliates play an important role in shaping the consumption patterns of Malaysians.
“We are grateful for their hard work and contribution, and for being part of the Shopee family,” Tan added.
Award winner Sarah M. Nasir said becoming an affiliate allowed her, a housewife, to earn an income from home.
“For me, this is very meaningful as I am able to dive into my passion while still being a full-time housewife.
“I am proud to have successfully improved my daily sales by 15%,” she said.
Fellow affiliate Dahlia Hakim said Shopee Live was now her main source of income.
“As a young mother with no source of income, I see this platform as an opportunity to develop my business skills,” she said.
Another award winner, with the Shopee username Lindaoffolala, said her online business has helped her be confident as an entrepreneur.
“I started with a number of products using a simple setup on Shopee Video.
“My income has increased eightfold since then,” she added.
Receiving the Best Seller Creator Award, cosmetic brand founder and philanthropist Anas Zahrin said the accolade was proof of his never-give-up attitude since starting his online business three years ago.
The Johor-born Anas said his win also showed that Malaysian brands could succeed and gain the trust of local consumers.
