Billboard company obtains leave to commence judicial review


THE Star was recently contacted by the owner/operator of the subject billboard at the Federal Highway who notified The Star that they have filed proceedings in Court to quash the decision of Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) in issuing a “Notis Arahan Penurunan Iklan Tanpa Lesen Dibawah UUK 7 Undang-Undang Kecil Iklan (MBPJ) 2007” dated Aug 29, 2025.

The owner/operator of the subject billboard also notified The Star that they had on Sept 22, 2025 obtained leave of the Kuala Lumpur High Court to commence judicial review proceedings for that purpose.

The Court also made an order staying the enforcement and effect of MBPJ’s decision that has been made until the full and final determination of the case.
