THREE houseowners who recently purchased units in Bandar Sri Sendayan near Seremban, Negri Sembilan, struck it big in the developer’s lucky draw.
The promotional event by Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd for its new housing developments saw electric vehicles (EVs) drawn for the top three winners in a prize pool of 128 prizes totalling RM1mil.
Production manager Ahmad Rosdi Mat Yusof, 48, was the grand-prize winner, bagging a BYD Sealion SUV worth more than RM180,000 during the event at d’Tempat Country Club.
“When it comes to lucky draws, I had only been lucky once where I took home a vacuum cleaner.
“I had already given up hope, thinking that I would again be going home empty-handed,” said father-of-two Ahmad Rosdi who currently drives a 12-year-old car.
“I decided to buy a property here in Sendayan as it was close to my place of work at the Sendayan TechValley.
“Winning the grand prize only means that my decision to move here was the right one,” he said.
Ahmad Rosdi was among 428 housebuyers entitled to participate in the campaign, with other prizes including Blueshark R1 electric motorcycles, iPhone 16 Pro Max and a range of premium household appliances such as cordless vacuums, smart LED TV, refrigerators and home sound systems.
Self-employed S. Megaraj, 40, and Intan Amirah Farahani Amiluddin, 29, were overjoyed after they each won a BYD M6 worth RM124,000.
“Although I now drive a sports utility vehicle and know nothing about an EV, I intend to keep this car for my wife,” said Megaraj.
“I consider this a special gift as I have never been lucky in such contests,” he said, adding that the house by Matrix Concepts was his first property purchase.
Intan Amirah, from Bangi in Selangor, said she was glad she took her cousin’s advice to buy a house in Bandar Sri Sendayan.
“Both my husband and I have decided to keep this car and we are going to learn about EVs,” she said, adding that the house they bought was also their first property.
Matrix Concepts executive director Kelvin Lee, who was present to give away the top prizes, said the overwhelming response to its Electrifying Raya Bonanza campaign demonstrated the trust and confidence of housebuyers in the company.
“Beyond the prizes and festivities, this celebration reflects our promise to deliver not just homes but lasting value and memorable experiences.
“Our aim with this campaign is to show appreciation to our purchasers, to make the home ownership journey more rewarding and to reaffirm that choosing Matrix is about becoming part of a community that grows together,” he said.
The company, he said, would continue to encourage the adoption of EVs and sustainable technologies in line with its ongoing initiatives.
Lee said that by featuring EVs and energy-efficient products as part of the campaign, Matrix Concepts aimed to inspire greener lifestyle choices among its communities while reducing environmental impact for future generations.
