AFTER a month-long search that saw hopeful candidates putting their Guinness-pouring skills to the test, Guinness Malaysia has officially crowned its very first Chief Pint Officers (CPOs).

The competition, which challenged participants to master the perfect pour and the ultimate Tilt Test, concluded with one grand winner awarded a trip of a lifetime to Dublin, Ireland, the home of Guinness.

It had garnered an overwhelming number of entries, with 10 shortlisted finalists battling it out in the final showdown.

The grand finale, held at Arthur’s Storehouse in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, featured a Tilt Test station, a Guinness-themed trivia round and live pouring challenges.

Candidates were scored on various criteria, including their ability to identify the perfect pour without tasting, complete the Guinness pouring ritual under pressure and put their own pints to the Tilt Test to check if the foam head remains intact without spilling.

Three finalists were ultimately crowned CPOs.

Grand winner Chia Pui Kwan said she initially joined the contest for fun, and never expected to be crowned champion.

She won an all-expenses-paid trip to Dublin, including a tour to the legendary Guinness Storehouse and the brewery.

“I am really looking forward to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

“Guinness has been my favourite stout due to its smooth and creamy texture,” said Chia, who hails from Kuala Lumpur.

The other two winners were Ong Li Min from Cameron Highlands, Pahang, and Thiban Anadcaan @ Eaganathan from Rawang, Selangor.

The CPOs also won themselves a monthly allocation of Guinness products, RM150 credit to be used at the Guinness flagship outlet, Arthur’s Storehouse, VIP invites to selected Guinness events throughout the year as well as an exclusive birthday celebration worth RM888.

“What stood out wasn’t just their knowledge of the perfect pint of Guinness; it was their deep passion for the brand, their ability to recognise and celebrate quality, and the personal pride they took in every moment of the journey,” said Guinness Malaysia marketing manager Joyce Lim.

“That is the spirit of Guinness, and it is what we saw in our three CPOs.

“We are excited to see how they will carry that torch forward and inspire others to appreciate and uphold the quality standard that Guinness is known for,” she added.

Guests can also put the Guinness Tilt Test to check if their pint meets the signature quality of the brand.
